I agree completely with your comments on Stephen King’s On Writing. That is probably the best book on the topic I have read and was very encouraging to me.

I write. I share very little of what I write, but I write constantly. I have written for magazines, for in-house publications, for businesses, associations, newsletters, and for myself. Mostly for myself.

I am finishing up a collection of short stories, all related to one topic. Maybe it is more of a novel, along the lines of Sherwood Anderson’s Winesburg, Ohio. I’m not completely clear how to classify the work, but I am writing it out of a strong internal compulsion. I self published my last book, but I think this effort is strong enough to seek out a “real” publisher.
