You make some very good points. I'm a Libertarian myself, but being in the military, I tend to vote conservative, which means Republican. I've long supported Lamar Alexander, and I could vot for Ron Paul, but I think he's an idiot about his stance on Iraq. I have no problem with what a person's skin color or plumbing is - I'd gladly vote for Colin Powell, Jean Kirkpatrick, or Condoleesa Rice for President.

Being a Libertarian has it's advantages. At the national level, my party has always been wackos, but at the state level, they tend to be like Linux people - they want things to work and cost less. Republicans and Democrats seem to be to be like football fans. It doesn't matter how much cocaine your favorite wide receiver uses, as long as your team wins the superbowl. What a stupid reason to vote one way or the other.

Very true. I, of course, will be voting for Ron Paul come election time, since I don't like either of those two. Too much government, too much crap.

I remember seeing a couple of articles on a political comment site a month or so ago. The first suggested that anti-Clinton Democrats were being sexist and the second was quite adamant that anti-Obama Democrats were being racist.

You just can't win sometimes.

... And there are Black people who won't vote for Obama because he's part Black and not primarily focused on Black issues. They don't want the White liberals to "be let off the hook" by electing a Black man who isn't a Black Leader

... And there are White people who won't vote for Obama because he's Black and they fear he will focus on Black issues after the election - to the Whites' detriment. These are mostly middle-class White families who can't afford the cost of living increases that they expect in the wake of major tax increases to fund social programs.
