Google is taking steps to combat Microsoft in the OS battleground, but just supporting Ubuntu instead of releasing a distro by their own. Why I think there won't be a "Google Linux"? Because all of we know any newborn distro is almost useless for desktops and desktop-users are Google's main target. No, they will support a stable and proven-to-work distro. For people that have only recently switched over, like me, this can be a problem. I have hundreds of stored documents that are still in .doc format, so GDL doesn't pick them up.
