Okay, I have to admit, I didn't particularly like the first
Matrix. I mean, it was okay. It made great fodder for Evangelical sermons; it had groundbreaking visual effects, etc. But basically, the concept that we are not actual humans but just believe we are and are actually in some elaborate illusion-producing computer program is not such an original one. Plus, the ending with Neo flying around like Superman was weak. The only thing weaker, of course, is the sequel. It was long, it was boring, the visual effects were okay (but sometimes a little weak, honestly), and the script was cheesy and confusing. What's the point in reviewing it, though, really? I don't know. I'm just doing it. I know psychotic
Matrix fans will have seen it already, no matter how bad a review they might read, and people who don't care for the
Matrix "trilogy" won't care for this installment. Oh, and the cliffhanger ending is really rotten. "Tune in next week" it implicitly says, even though it leaves you with a "tune in next half-year" ending. Hm, the one redeeming thing about
The Matrix Reloaded? The guy who plays the key maker actually makes keys! He's so funny, very calm, but also so... civilian.
