The subject matter of this documentary--a church's "Hell House" that dramatizes date rapes, abortions, school shootings, and domestic abuse to scare people into Christianity--is far more interesting than the documentary itself, which has slow pacing, minimal editing, almost no outside narration, and a repetitive effect. The film spends most of its time following the Texas church in its planning phases (auditions, set construction, etc.) than in examining the actual Hell House and its effects on the patrons and performers. For anyone who was beginning to doubt there any crazy Christians out there, this movie will reassure you they're out there. I'd like to see a film showing the sane Christians, too; though, that documentary may be even more boring than this one! See
Hell House for the novelty of it, if nothing else.
