This is a Spinal Tap-esque mockumentary chronicling a year in the life of a supposed rap group, Niggas with Hats (or NWH). It's crude, low humor at its best. The film's strength is that it doesn't take itself seriously and it makes fun of everybody--black people, white people; rappers, non-rappers; men, women; etc. The movie is engaging. Unfortunately, sometimes the joke-rap is actually pretty good and a little too close to being its own original that it fails to make fun of the real rap groups it's supposed to be spoofing. The other problem is that, while the movie is engaging, the hard-core humor is few and far between. Yes, there will definitely be parts you bust your gut laughing at, but you may go a full twenty minutes without even chuckling. A total no-brainer, but a total yes-fun-er.
