Everyone Says I Love You

Buy at Amazon.com Like most Woody Allen films, Everyone Says I Love You has a star-studded cast. Surprisingly, most of the cast can sing. Drew Barrymore is obviously dubbed, though. There's your usual Allen absurdity, silliness, and cynicism. The musical numbers are delightful, though, especially for lovers of swing and vocal jazz music of the forties and fifties. Even though the storyline involving Allen's character and Julia Roberts' character is sickening (as is every Allen romance with a younger woman), Edward Norton puts in yet another fine performance--one quite different from American History X or Fight Club. --A.Y.
