An adaption Ariel Dorfman's play of the same name, this movie feels like a play--not much change of scenery, only three characters, lots of talking, lots of tension. The characters' motivations feel real, even if the dialogue's a bit false. More importantly, the film's story brings up a lot more questions than it answers, raising ethical issues without being overly preachy (it is a bit preachy toward the end, though). Sigourney Weaver gives a dynamite performance, her best ever, really.
