I loved this movie when I was a kid. In fact, I had a lot of the action figures... never did get Medusa, though. What a shame. I must have always seen the "edited for television" version, though, because (even though the movie was rated PG) there's a gratuitous nude scene Andromeda has toward the end of the film. I guess it's better than having Perseus do a nude scene (the guy is ugly--this I didn't remember either). Okay, the film: The plot moves quickly and has some interesting developments. The dialogue is cheesy, but that's what you expect from a movie about Greek mythology. What I didn't expect was the worst claymation/blue screen special effects in recent memory. Yeah, yeah, yeah... you can see it was the early 80s, but
Star Wars had some great special effects, and that was 1976. If you don't mind bad special effects,
Titans is a fun ride that will make you glad you aren't on a mission that involves cutting off Medusa's head.
