
This movie is
far, far better than any of the
Matrix entries. No matter how many times I watch
Bound, I still find it equally as compelling and suspenseful as the first time. The down sides are: 1. The entire premise is a bit contrived and unbelievable (but isn't that how most films are?) 2. The dialogue can be a little corny sometimes. 3. Some parts are rather gruesome (there is some finger dismemberment involved). Other than those, you have a perfect cast, real sensuality, innovate cinematography (without too many "dazzling" special effects), and good old-fashioned
film noir couched in stereotypes of Italian mobsters. Some interesting studies in depictions of genders and sexuality...
