I'd heard from several sources that this is much better than the
Matrix sequels. Well, it doesn't take much to be better than the sequels, but the
Animatrix may just edge them out. This series of animated shorts aren't all prequels but they all somehow fit into the
Matrix universe. The animation styles vary and so does the story quality, especially since the stories aren't all written by the same people. Even when you stumble upon an interesting narrative, though, the ending to each short is either anticlimactic or too abrupt. If you are really fascinated by the idea of a "matrix" (and/or you're a pastor), you may want to see this. Otherwise, it's not worth your time.
